Supercream Magazine | Issue No 00: Event | Archive | News | Contact

Editorial:

This is Supercream_Magazine's issue 00 - the first endavour of Supercream_Magazine and part of Supercream.org.uk, a curatorial platform which started off earlier this year in February 2008.

The starting point for issue 00 was the focus on curatorial processes taking the form of event-based programming that is manifesting itself more and more on the art scene in London as well as internationally.

Responding to these conditions and in reflection to Supercream.org.uk's current project on Supercream_Adoptions, we decided to open up the question of the event's identity in contemporary cultural production to a selection of writers, artists and curators. The event defines a prolific starting point for cultural theories and their programmatic constructions.

Issue 00: Event presents a reflection on the contemporary cultural and political embeddings of the event, but is by no means a finished product.
The inability and the lack of aspiration to put forward an organic and consequential magazine/object suggests that a linear succession of issues is no longer possible for us - other strategies are to be found. In other terms this 00 topic is incomplete and will remain so, in favour of an ever-evolving research suitcase.
We are proud to present to you the one and lonely Issue 00 of Supercream_Magazine, which will never lead to 01.
